Abstract
A new seven-parameter BRDF model inspired by five-parameter BRDF model and fourteen-parameter BRDF model was developed. A retro-reflection part due to the back-reflected was introduced in the seven-parameter BRDF model. To assess the performance of the seven-parameter BRDF model, we measured BRDF of three kinds of samples and simulated the undetermined parameters of the five-parameter BRDF model and the seven-parameter BRDF model using the hybrid artificial bee colony algorithm, respectively. The experimental results demonstrate that the seven-parameter BRDF model has a good agreement with the retro-reflection peak and outperforms the five-parameter BRDF model in accuracy.
