30 August 2017 Rosetta's studies of comet 67P's surface: a review after the end of the mission

Abstract
In September 2016 the Rosetta space probe landed on comet 67P introducing the end of its active mission phase. During more than two years of operation the Rosetta orbiter along with its lander module acquired manifold data escorting the comet during its journey through the solar system. This paper gives an overview about some of the key achievements of the mission. It summarizes outstanding results with a focus on the cometary surface, and discusses prospects for cometary science.
