Abstract
Drum brake is one of the most critical safety components of the elevator system as a protective mechanical part for elevator operation and stop. This paper deeply investigates the relationship between the operation state of drum brake and the basic faults of its parts, through the mechanism analysis of each failure mode of drum brake. Then, the fault tree is established corresponding to each failure mode, by summarizing the failure factors of drum brake. Finally, the fault diagnosis for the failure cases of elevator drum brake are carried out according to the analysis results. It makes it possible to put forward diagnostic opinions to guide maintenance and ensure the safe operation of elevator.
