Abstract
Differential protection is an important technical guarantee for distribution network operation, which has strict communication delay requirements for data transmission. Short data packets carrying control information should be used for transmission. In this paper, we study a downlink short-packet communication model with RIS-assisted differential protection and a sum rate maximization problem is proposed to optimize active beamforming and passive beamforming using a successive convex approximate frame. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the sum achievable rate, especially under poor channel conditions.
