Abstract
Electroluminescence and electron emission from dispersed (island) Si films excited by the conduction current are investigated. These phenomena are observed after the reduction of the Si work function by adsorbed BaO molecules. The results are compared with similar data obtained for porous Si samples. A strong effect of adsorbed layers on the photon and electron emission is found.
