Abstract

The method of determination of the upper laser level lifetime (tau) _sp, based on the dependence of the lasing threshold of the active medium of solid-state tunable lasers on the repetition period of pump pulses when they approach one another by an interval comparable with (tau) _sp, is proposed. An experimental setup for realizing the method proposed is described.
