Abstract
Surface modification of the RGB phosphor excited by low- energy electrons is considered as the main way to improve their cathodoluminescent (CL) properties. Basic experimental result of how modifying additives influence the electrophysical and low-voltage CL properties of phosphors are presented. A mechanisms of modifying action is proposed to explain the known data, some ways for searching surface modifiers are given to allow the quality of phosphors to be improved.
