Abstract
The work covers particularities of the light polarized by a quartz crystal having an arbitrary orientation. He-Ne laser was used as a source of light. The laser beam was polarized on 45° to the horizontal or vertical. The laser beam intensity was changed after it having passed through the sample of the transparent quartz that was made in the cube form depending on the angle of light falling onto the facet of the crystal. The cube was oriented so that the quartz optical axis was in a plain of one of its facets and it was placed under 35° to the normal to another facet. It was shown that the obtained intensity modulation is connected with the transformation of polarization performed by the quartz crystal and the first differs from the similar modulation for the quartz cube whose optical axis is parallel to one of its edges. The cube does not practically pass the light in the region of ~4° at definite configuration of laser and optical axis.
