Abstract
The gastrointestinal (GI) system is an important part of human body. Gastrointestinal (GI) motility is an important indicator of motor activity of the GI tract. Recent researches have proved that many GI diseases are caused by motility disorders directly or indirectly. The measurement of motility is an important component in the diagnosis of GI motility disorders. Present techniques for measuring motility have disadvantages ranging from patient discomfort to high cost. This paper reports on the development of an inexpensive, minimally invasive monitoring system, capable of continuously measuring the pressure and temperature of GI motility. Every functional part of the system is introduced, which mainly includes a micro telemetry robot and a portable receiver.
