Abstract
A new scattering model for ultrasound is proposed. The new model accounts for the dominant sources of tissue scattering including reverberation. In addition to the proposed model a parameter estimation scheme for the model is presented. Using the decomposition scheme, the received ultrasound signal can be decomposed into the various scattering sources arriving concurrently. Sources that are within the expected region of the ballistic wave are kept and used to reconstruct a decluttered B-Mode image.
