Phosphors with high color-conversion efficiency are crucial for high-performance full-color displays. Recent research by the authors achieved 7-fold enhancement in color-conversion efficiency through structurally engineered phosphors, where phosphor materials were integrated into a nano-photonic structure, specifically photonic crystal (PhC) to exploit resonant absorption. However, challenges remain, including the waste of excitation photons and complex nanofabrication. In this presentation, structural phosphor based on a resonant cavity (RC) is introduced. A thin 40-nm CQD film embedded in a tailored RC results in high absorption (~87%) and enhanced fluorescence (~29×), while the simple planar geometry obviates the need for complex nanofabrications.
