Ka-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signal system is easier to achieve high resolution SAR image. However, Ka-band radar signal attenuation is more serious which caused lower received power. Digital beam forming (DBF) technology could enhance the echo energy. The traditional DBF-SCORE algorithm set the synthetic coefficient in advance, since the gain-phase error of the array and terrain fluctuation, the synthetic beam pattern deviated from its ideal state, which significantly reduced the system performance. In this paper, an adaptive range direction DBF algorithm based on DOA estimation is proposed, which improves the receiving gain by jointly estimating gain-phase error of the array and the angle of arrival of the return wave. Finally, the simulation results show its feasibility and validity.
