Profile Summary

Dr. Soares de Oliveira is an optical scientist. He received his BS and MS degrees in
physics in 2006 and 2009, respectively, and his PhD in electrical engineering with an emphasis
in photonics from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 2014. With an extensive background in optics, in which he has been working since his undergraduate studies in Physics, Dr. Soares de Oliveira has over 6 years experience working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of biomedical optics and imaging. Former Project Scientist at Medical Center of University of California Davis, his main research expertise and interests are related to Raman spectroscopy, including hyperspectral microscopy and imaging, and with the development of optical mechanical experimental setups, in association with chemometric techniques, in particular to diagnoses and medical applications.
