9 March 2020 Recent advancements in surface-enhanced infrared sensing technology: from gold to graphene (Conference Presentation)

Abstract
Using nanostructured waveguide surfaces via materials ranging from noble metals (e.g., gold) to graphene quantum dots gives rise to so-called surface enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) features, which amplify molecular signatures up to a factor of 1,000. Hence, even trace concentrations of molecular constituents may be probed via their vibrational signatures in a label-free direct assay format.
