Abstract
On an example of Barguzin Bay of Lake Baikal the effect of phosphorus (coming from the Barguzin River) on phytoplankton growth during the spring–summer heating was studied by mathematical modeling. The results of numerical experiments showed the dependence of the localization of phytoplankton bloom in the bay on the phosphate content in river water. With a high level of phosphates, there is a tendency for the maximum concentrations of phytoplankton to be shifted toward the river mouth.
