Abstract

Space-based self-organizing network is a complex network with large space-time scale, which has the gained much attention in the last decade particularly due to its characteristics of large number of nodes, complex composition, and high dynamic change of inter-satellite topology. Considering the fact that satellite node failures and link failures often occur due to network’s complexity and instability, an appropriate routing strategy needs to ensure the continuity of signal transmission and avoid the influence of link switching. In this paper, we propose a distributed destruction-resistant on-demand routing algorithm for space-based self-organizing network to give timely and accurate response to network failures. The optimal path to the destination node can be re-detected in the method of breakpoint continuous transmission. The simulation results show that the algorithm can obtain better data transmission rate and lower delay at the cost of a small amount of control overhead, ensuring the reliability and invulnerability of routing.
