As a main body of sports, extracurricular physical exercise can not only effectively improve students' physique, improve their health and build a strong body, but also as an important means to promote personal perfection, which has more far-reaching significance for students' growth and development. This paper uses questionnaire investigation and statistical analysis method. The computer software developing circumstance of Chenzhou city rural extracurricular physical exercise were investigated, and the results showed that about 72% of rural primary schools have full-time teachers, 40.9% of which are rural middle school physical education teachers, and most schools have class physical training only one to two times a week. The main content of extracurricular physical exercise is freehand exercise, running, rope skipping and games. There are few schools with standard sports venues. The main factors affecting the extracurricular physical exercise in rural primary and secondary schools in Chenzhou city are that parents and students do not have a strong sense of physical exercise, lack of understanding of the value of extracurricular physical exercise, and school leaders do not pay attention to the teachers and extracurricular physical exercise, and extracurricular physical exercise time is often occupied. It is suggested that the school leaders should strengthen the construction of physical education teachers, pay attention to the development of students' extracurricular physical exercise, and attract more students to participate in physical exercise so that students can form a good habit of physical exercise, and overall cultivate students' lifelong physical awareness.
