Abstract
Compressed air energy storage technology is one of the most promising energy storage technologies. Setting throttle valve in the system is conducive to ensuring the stable output of the system. A throttle valve is set in an adiabatic compressed air energy storage system with four stages of compression and four stages of expansion. The effects of the setting of the initial pressure ratio of the throttle valve on the inlet conditions of the expansion section, the output capacity of the expander, the total output capacity of the system and the system efficiency are studied. It is found that the increase of the initial pressure ratio is conducive to improve the system efficiency, prolong the energy release time of the system, reduce the output power of the system per unit time, and there is a throttle pressure ratio to maximize the total output power of the system.
