Smart manufacturing plays an important role in the development of the national economy, and mechatronics technology has the advantages of intelligence and microscopy, which can promote the innovation of smart manufacturing. This paper first analyzes the connotation and characteristics of intelligent manufacturing and then discusses the development characteristics of mechatronics technology. On the premise of the above theory, the new progress of mechatronics technology in the practice of smart manufacturing is presented from the following five aspects: the whole life cycle of an intelligent manufacturing process, the change of market demand inflection point, the creation of a digital collaborative foundation, the development of intelligent manufacturing simulation link, and the development of modular whole machine and the ability to cope with production changes. This paper can provide some theoretical value for the integration and development of smart manufacturing and mechatronics.
