Abstract
The million ton/year ethylene plant has a large number of pressure vessels and pressure pipes, and those are complex structures. The higher operating parameters and more diverse media of the equipment in the large ethylene plant put forward new challenges and higher requirements for the efficiency and reliability of inspection and testing, equipment safety management technology and methods, online inspection and other aspects. The RBI, periodic inspection, damage mechanism identification, and non-destructive testing (NDT) for the large ethylene plant are presented in this paper. The application of these technologies ensures the smooth completion of the comprehensive inspection of pressure vessels and pipes of large ethylene plant, makes the long-term operation of the equipment possible, realizes the unity of economy and safety, reduces the occurrence of equipment accidents, and makes contributions to the safe operation of the ethylene plant.
