Abstract
Surface defects on transmission towers usually include cracks, corrosion, rust, and other issues, and these defects often have different shapes and sizes. Therefore, designing accurate identification methods to ensure that drones can reliably identify various types of defects is a challenge at this stage. Therefore, a new UAV tracking and recognition method for transmission tower surface defects is designed by combining edge computing method. Based on edge computing, the data collected by UAVs on the surface of transmission towers are classified accurately. Based on this, a multi strategy PSO is used to achieve unmanned aerial vehicle tracking of surface defects on transmission towers. Simulated annealing algorithm is introduced to improve particle swarm optimization, and a multi-strategy particle swarm optimization algorithm is formed. According to Sobel operator, UAV tracking and identification of surface defects of transmission towers are completed. The experimental results show that the research method can track all defects on the surface of transmission towers, and has higher accuracy in identifying defects.
