Abstract
In a conventional pattern recognition system with a matched spatial filter (MSF), the filter has been synthesized with the same pattern as used for an unknown input to be recognized. Therefore, many reference patterns were used for synthesizing the filter even though a multiplexed MSF (MMSF) was introduced' for recognizing many unknown patterns at a time. In this paper, we propose and describe a new MMSF synthesized by some elemental components of the pattern which the desired input unknown is composed of.
