Numerical calculations for the pulse shape after diffraction from a grating are presented. An analytical expression was found for the tilt angle of the diffracted pulse front, which depends also on the ratio of the input pulse duration and the size of the beam waist. The pulse duration is increasing upon propagation, however, outside the Rayleigh range it remains constant.
