Abstract

A formula for the band structure energy U_bs of simple liquid metals in the terms of the interference function a(q) is derived. U_bs is evaluated both for experimental and theoretical shape of a(q). Although the contribution of U_bs to the total energy is small, it is suggested that presented formalism could be used for other atomic properties, where its role is expected to be more pronounced.
