Abstract

The microwave propagation characteristics of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) electrode on Ti:LiNbO₃ optical modulator are studied and a loss formula based on experimental data fitting is proposed. The loss requirement on a 160 GHz LiNbO₃ modulator is also studied.
