Abstract
3-D reconstruction of the CT images is one important part of the 3-D visualization technology in the medical image processing which can support the clinical diagnosis and treatment. Because of the complexity and huge amounts of data in the reconstruction algorithm, it's critical to select a convenient and high-efficient development tool. IDL have many advantages in the medical images processing. It can read directly CT DICOM file and implement visualization rapidly on PC. It is also easy to be operated by general users. A method of 3-D reconstruction of the CT medical images was presented and an example was illustrated in the end.
