Abstract
°In this work, a dual sensor for simultaneous measurements of strain and refractive index (RI) is proposed. The sensor is based on a 4.5 tilted fibre Bragg grating (TFBG). Using two different demodulating techniques, namely monitoring the core mode wavelength and the normalized area of the transmission spectrum, it is possible to measure, strain and RI with a resolution of 2.5 με and 3 x 10-5, respectively.
