Abstract
Photonic neural networks based on semiconductor lasers hold a big promise for future, high performance computing at ultra-high bandwidths. We integrate such networks in a variety of semiconductor laser structures, demonstrate their scalable photonic integration. Finally, we apply our fully implemented neural networks to technologically and commercially relevant tasks in optical telecommunication, demonstrating their realization in realtime and without active involvement of classical digital electronic computers.
