The effect of controlled aliasing in synthetic Fresnel holograms is investigated with the aid of image distribution diffracted from the aperture of the element. The intensity fluctuation of the images distorted by aliasing is predicted by considering optical phase errors from the pixel areas of an aperture of synthetic Fresnel holograms.
