Ultra-wideband radar has great application prospects in target detection and target imaging with the advantages of strong penetration, high range resolution, and precise target recognition. Since it is difficult to separate the target from the detection background in the B-scan image of ultra-wideband radar in a complex environment, this paper presents a method of object recognition based on edge detection and region segmentation. The Canny edge detection algorithm is used to extract the target signal in the complex background, and then the image region segmentation method is used to segment multiple targets in the dataset. To verify the feasibility of the algorithm, radar imaging experiments are carried out, and the experimental results show that the proposed method can better realize the target recognition and extraction of the B-scan image of ultra-wideband radar in complex environments.
