Profile Summary

Firdous Saleheen is a senior optical sensing engineer at ASML. He is involved in development and engineering activities for alignment sensors in lithography machines. Before joining ASML, he was a research scientist in EDDA Technology Inc, Princeton, NJ, USA. He was involved in system development for CT-image guided surgery and therapy planning for liver. Before joining EDDA, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Temple University. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2017 from Temple University. In 2016, he received ORISE fellowship from US Department of Energy to participate in digital pathology and color science research at Food and Drug Administration. Prior coming to academia, he worked as an Engineer, later Senior Engineer, in Mango Teleservices Limited (2008-2010). His research interests include optical sensing systems, image-guided procedure and robotic interventions, tracking and calibration, medical robotics, statistical and game-theoretic control, hyperspectral and tactile imaging, and color science.
